You previously might have thought about how schools will be in the future. Maybe the teachers and professors we have today would be replaced by intelligent robots. Or maybe we might not have to go to school at all instead we could learn from our homes, or while having a trip to Australia.
Then it was that month, April 2020, the governments of most countries said to stay home to stay safe from one of the pandemic disease, the COVID-19 caused by the coronavirus.
Well, what about schools. Won't the schools function until lockdown?
Then, there was a solution."ONLINE SCHOOLING!"
Online schooling was a different way of coming to school, where you open your device to listen to the teacher who was right on your screen. Some students find this method of studying very difficult and some find it as easy as pie.
Don't worry if you are one of those people who found it very challenging.
Here are some tips you can use while still learning.
#1 Find your space and time.
For anyone having online schooling should have a designated workspace, with a neatly scheduled timetable, a place free from distractions and adequate lighting, whether natural or artificial. It could be anywhere but include the following items in mind after choosing a place.
Textbooks,notebooks and other study material
(optional) Sticky notes, whiteboards with markers to practice maths
Some rough papers which can come in handy
That's done for study place, now for schedules. Make one study schedule which is most comfortable, but try not to keep it too early in the morning or too late at night.
#2 Organise resources for learning
Make sure you have all the requirements 25 minutes before the class. Don't know what are the requirements? Here are some basic ones.
A laptop, a tablet or a phone
Good quality headphones if the house is not very quiet.
High speed with long range WiFi
#3 Remove any clutter from your workspace
I don't think anyone would study effectively if their workspace is very messy. So, remove any clutter on the table as that can easily distract you, piles up the loose papers and organise them in binders or folders. Keep only the required on the table like your schedule, clock and a calendar along with your regular stationary.
#4 Reward yourself
Ah! After your long day of online school, after completing your homework and assignment, after ticking off everything in your to-do list , you can finally take a good break. You deserve one after everything. The break could be playing a video game, watching a good movie, having a snack or reading a very good book. It could also be reading a blog like the one you are reading.
#5 To-do list
Last but not the least, a to-do list. I kept this as the last as you might have the question, after reading the previous tip,"What is a to-do list?". As the name suggests, a to-do list is the one which you have to write all your tasks for today and check them off when they are done. It is a great way to manage time, beat procrastination and motivate you. Seeing you doing progress will definitely motivate you.
